Edward W. Wedbush, MBA 1957
Structured Firm for Employees to Share Success
Self-taught in the equity and bond markets, Wedbush made his first investment at 17. Wedbush enrolled in graduate school at UCLA and while there founded what is now Wedbush Securities Inc., where he implements a forward-thinking management philosophy to empower colleagues. Wedbush structured the company so that colleagues share in the firm's success, basing compensation not only on salary but also on the performance of each division, as well as a percentage of the entire firm. In the first year, revenue at the company was less than $700. Today, Wedbush Securities is one of the nation's leading full-service investment firms, and consistently ranks as the #1 Liquidity Provider on NASDAQ and NYSE Securities on NASDAQ. Wedbush is a founding board member of the Fink Center for Finance and Investments and a generous benefactor of the school.
