Events

Career Afternoon and Mixer

The WBC kicks off recruiting season with a unique event for Anderson women to develop strong connections with recruiters and alumnae. This is an opportunity to build relationships with top company representatives before on-campus recruiting starts. At this event, many of our members have made connections with recruiters and alumnae that led to summer internships and full-time offers.

Women in Technology Brunch

The WBC and AnderTech partner for an event specifically tailored to women interested in the technology industry. This event brings Anderson women together with recruiters and alumnae from top tech firms before on-campus recruiting starts.

Velocity: Anderson Women’s Leadership Summit

Velocity, the annual Anderson Women’s Leadership Summit, empowers women to become authentic global leaders through exceptional speakers, candid industry-specific discussions and facilitated networking among best-in-class professionals.

Professional Development Workshops

The WBC hosts workshops for members on a range of tactical topics:

  • Dealing with gender bias in the workplace
  • Developing personal leadership style
  • Handling negotiations
  • Preparing for interviews
  • Succeeding in internships to secure a full-time offer
  • Managing personal finances
Mentorship Program

The WBC mentorship program pairs first- and second-year Anderson women with a mentor in their target industry. Mentors and mentees meet one-on-one throughout the year to develop strong connections, build industry knowledge and strategize for future internships and full-time opportunities. The WBC hosts events to bring mentors and mentees together as a group for additional professional and social networking.

Manbassador Program

The WBC is proud to have a strong network of Manbassadors who are active advocates for gender equity. The WBC holds educational, knowledge-sharing and skill-building events with members and Manbassadors to increase awareness and develop the skills to effectively manage and promote diverse professional environments.

Women’s Executive Speaker Series

Throughout the year, the WBC invites women at the top of their fields to Anderson to tell their stories. These lunchtime or evening events are company-specific events where high-powered women discuss important management topics.

Alumnae Dinners for Eight (D48)

Throughout the year, the WBC hosts small dinners with professionals from various industries including finance, consulting, technology, brand management, social impact and more.

Days on the Job

The WBC partners with other professional clubs to bring Anderson women to top companies for on-site visits. The DOJs are a great way to experience the corporate culture first hand, along with an opportunity for companies to highlight their women’s initiatives. The WBC has relationships with companies at all levels, from startups to Fortune 500.

WBC Volunteer Days

The WBC has a strong relationship with the Downtown Women’s Center, where members volunteer regularly. The club organizes one to two community service events each quarter. The WBC is also focused on building out the pipeline of young women going to business school with events to encourage high school and undergraduate women to consider an MBA in the future.

Admissions Coffee Chats

The WBC pairs prospective students with current Anderson MBA students, who speak about their experience in the program and career plans beyond Anderson.

Lunch with Dean Olian

Dean Olian joins the women of the WBC each year to share her story and advice over delicious food. This is a great opportunity for the women of the WBC to get to know Dean Olian in a more intimate setting.

Cocktail Hours, Fun Social Activities and More!

The WBC aims to balance work with fun through a variety of social events each year. The ultimate goal is to build an unbreakable connection that members can carry with them far after graduation.
