The Outdoor Adventure Club brings together the Anderson community for epic times in beautiful places. We camp, we climb, we cycle, we hike, we dive. And, above all, we enjoy the amazing outdoor opportunities that living in L.A. and SoCal afford.

Events

Hiking and Camping

L.A. is a city nestled between mountains and the ocean, providing ample trail sytems to hike. Each year, we lead local hikes to the Hollywood sign, in and around the Brentwood canyons and to Sunset Point. We also lead weekend backpacking and camping trips farther afield, generally including a fall and spring trip to Joshua Tree, a winter trip to Santa Cruz Island and backpacking trips to Sequoia or King’s Canyon.

SCUBA Diving

SoCal has numerous diving options — exploring the kelp forests around Catalina, swimming with the seals at Channel Islands and wreck diving in San Diego. OAC provides members a 10% discount on purchases, group rental rates and discounted pricing on lessons and certifications at a local dive shop.

Ski Trips

Skiing in SoCal? Right through May! The OAC loves shredding gnar at Mammoth, where we rent a cozy cabin as home base and hit the many slopes in the area. Bear Mountain (just a couple of hours from the city) is another option available during winter months.
