Dear members and guests,
We are honored to be hosting this year’s Supply Chain Thought Leaders Roundtable at UCLA Anderson, and look forward to seeing you all here this summer. The SCTL Roundtable is a highlight of the year for many of us, due to its highly interactive nature, the exceptional quality of the discussions, the profound collegiality of the participants, and, last but not least, the extraordinary efforts of the previous hosts.
Los Angeles and Southern California are home to many supply chains, with some of the busiest ports, airports, rail, roads, and border crossings in the world. Los Angeles is also a remarkably diverse economy, simultaneously the second largest manufacturing center in the US, the hub of the global film and television industry, and home to Silicon Beach, a fast-growing collection of mostly consumer-focused firms blending art, entertainment, advertising and technology.
Founded in 1781, Los Angeles is now the second most populous city in the US, with 3,792,621 residents covering 469 square miles (1,215 km2). Adding the neighboring counties, the Greater Los Angeles area has over 17 million residents.
With all that activity, it is no surprise that Los Angeles is also known for occasional minor traffic delays. And so, responding to requests from SCTL members, we will minimize the amount of time we spend on the freeways during the Roundtable. We invite you to enjoy all that Los Angeles has to offer before and after the Roundtable, be it the beaches, museums, studios, theme parks, mountains, deserts, restaurants, theatres, or other.
Together with our distinguished program committee we have assembled a program that we hope will be stimulating and enjoyable. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or comments.
We look forward to seeing you all here in July; meanwhile, safe travels.
