The closest major airport to UCLA is the Los Angeles International Airport, LAX.
Taxicab: Although taxi fares will vary depending on traffic, you can expect to pay $50 from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to the UCLA campus. The trip will take approximately 25 to 45 minutes. The ride can take longer, especially if you arrive during the afternoon rush hour, approximately 3.30-7.30pm.
Shuttle Service: Shuttle services are a more economical but slower means of transportation. Allow at least one hour and 15 minutes to the UCLA campus from the airport.
LAX FlyAway: The Westwood FlyAway picks up passengers at the Lower/Arrivals level at LAX and drops off at the Upper/Departures. Service is every hour, nonstop to Westwood, $10 one-way. For up-to-date information, see http://www.lawa.org/welcome_lax.aspx?id=4698.
Bus: UCLA and the Westwood area are served by many bus lines, including those run by the MTA (the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority), Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus system, and several Culver City bus lines. UCLA is located in West Los Angeles, surrounded by Bel Air to the North, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Century City to the East, and Brentwood and Santa Monica to the West. UCLA's main campus is bounded by Sunset Blvd. on the north and Le Conte Ave. on the south; the east border is Hilgard Ave. and the west border is Gayley Ave.
The Anderson School and the Hotel Palomar are shown on the map below. The hotel is 1.3 miles from the Anderson complex, about a 30-minute walk, through Westwood Village and over the UCLA campus.

The Anderson classroom where all sessions will be held is A202, shown on the map below. The Anderson Complex is quite small but can be confusing to visitors. The best way to orient oneself is to go to the 2nd floor and find the courtyard (the Marion Anderson courtyard), then find the correct building (known by their letters A through F or by their official names), then go to right floor within that building.
Program for partners and guests
Guests of SCTL participants are welcome to join us for the opening reception at the Fowler Museum on July 10, and for both dinners. A small number of guests may be able to join us for the tour and lunch at the Getty Center on July 12.
Los Angeles has so much to offer, and many of you have been to Southern California before. Therefore, we have chosen not to organize a partners program. However, we will be happy to provide suggestions for activities to do before, during and after the Roundtable, and the Palomar hotel staff is also availabe to help make arrangements.
