Who is Wilbur K. Woo?
Wilbur K. Woo, Vice Chairman Emeritus of Cathay Bank and Cathay Bancorp, Inc, is a major figure in the Los Angeles business, political, cultural and charitable domains as well as in the Chinese-American community.

He recently endowed the annual Wilbur K. Woo Greater China Business Conference at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, stating that the gift was, "in gratitude for the training I received at my alma mater many years ago," and adding that the mission of the conference was to promote understanding of the economic ties between the Greater China region and the United States.

What is different about this China conference?
The Wilbur K. Woo Greater China Business Conference focuses on the economic and social implications of entrepreneurial growth and the increasing integration between the Chinese and world economies.

The conference provides a collaborative forum in which a unique mix of business and thought leaders, professionals, academics and some of the country’s top MBA students exchange ideas, best practices and knowledge about the business trends, challenges and opportunities that are emerging through Greater China’s explosive economic growth and increasingly global entrepreneurial vision.

The venue for the Wilbur K. Woo Greater China Business Conference is the UCLA Anderson School of Management. The conference has been established at UCLA Anderson with a generous endowment from Mr. Woo in order to promote understanding of the economic ties between the Greater China region and the United States. With its renowned emphasis on entrepreneurship, and its Los Angeles location placing it at the hub of economic interchange between China and the U.S., UCLA Anderson is uniquely positioned to host the conference.
