Zuisho Hayashi, MBA 1962
Zuisho Hayashi is President and Chairman of the board of HUMAX Corporation, a privately held company of 12 subsidiaries involved in real estate development; movie theaters and film distribution; sports facilities such as golf courses, bowling centers and fitness centers; a restaurant chain; discotheques; and arcade game centers. With the exception of the real estate subdivision business, most of the company's activities are in the leisure field. In 1976, Mr. Hayashi succeeded his father in directing an independent chain of movie theaters and, with his brothers, developed diversified leisure businesses. The group also has subsidiaries in California, investing in real estate developments, and in Europe, constructing golf courses near London. He graduated in 1959 from Tokyo's Keio University, majoring in economics, and received an M.B.A. in Marketing from UCLA Anderson.
