Stephen Wadsworth, MBA 1988
Led Disney's Successful Foray into New Technologies
In 1995 Wadsworth left the safety of his position at Disney Consumer Products, where he served as director of business planning, to venture into unknown territory at Disney Online. The payoff was substantial, as Wadsworth became a major contributor to Disney's foray into new technologies, including the Internet, broadband and wireless capabilities. After serving as president of Disney's Internet unit beginning in 1999, Wadsworth became president of the Disney Interactive Media Group, a new division of The Walt Disney Company, in 2008. His operational responsibility covered The Walt Disney Company's interactive media portfolio, which includes Disney.com, the #1 Web site for children and families; a range of online multiplayer games for kids, including Club Penguin and World of Cars,; mobile content on devices around the world; a Disney Mobile phone service in Japan, Disney's console videogames; and social media games on sites like Facebook and MySpace.
