Built an Enduring Legacy at UCLA
Shapiro and his wife Shirley have built an enduring legacy at UCLA, providing lasting leadership and extensive financial support to strategic areas throughout campus. They have funded nine endowed chairs - ranging from the arts to medicine - and have generously provided unrestricted support to UCLA Anderson enabling the Dean to invest in strategic priorities. A longtime member of the UCLA Foundation Board of Directors and an active participant on several campus advisory boards, Shapiro also serves on the board of directors of the Spastic Children's Research Foundation and is a trustee of the Scripps Research Institute. In 2009, the Shapiros were honored with the UCLA Award in University Service.
