O. Kit Lokey, MBA 1967
Founded A Top U.S. Investment Banking Firm
Growing up in Los Angeles as the son of entrepreneurs - his father invented the iron-on patch - Lokey knew only that he wanted to control his own destiny. After earning his MBA at UCLA Anderson, he quickly made good on his goal, starting Houlihan Lokey with a business partner in 1972 and growing it into one of the top investment banking firms in the nation. The Century City, CA based company is in great demand both domestically and internationally for its financial restructuring advice, it's mergers and acquisition representation and its valuation opinions for large transactions and other purposes. Lokey, chairman emeritus of Houlihan Lokey's board of directors after serving as the company's chairman, CEO, and president for over 30 years, is an advisory board member for UCLA Anderson Fink Center for Finance and Investment. Lokey also serves on the boards of a number of for profit companies and not-for-profit entities.
