Shapes Economic Policy for Lisbon

Joao AssuncaoIt isn't every day that a marketing professor is asked to play a key government advisory role, but there's nothing "everyday" about Assuncao, a professor at the Catholic University of Portugal in Lisbon where he has served as chief economic advisor to the Portuguese government between 2002 and 2004 and as an advisor to the President of the Republic since 2006. Assuncao, who worked at Columbia Business School after earning his PhD at Anderson, and was the dean of the Management and Economics School of his university at the age of 34, and he was also a member of the Group of Societal Policy Analysis, an external advisory group established by the Presidency of the European Commission.
