James (Jim) Matheson, MBA 1987
Public Servant and Energy Policy Leader
Matheson is currently serving a fifth term representing Utah's Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves on the House Energy & Commerce Committee, which has the broadest jurisdiction of any congressional committee, dealing with energy policy, consumer protection, food and drug safety, healthcare, air quality and environmental health, telecommunications, and interstate and foreign commerce. Matheson is also a member of the House Science and Technology Committee. Prior to entering politics he was in the energy field, working for several companies and studying environmental policy before going on to start his own consulting firm.
